Freie Universität Berlin
Freie Universität owes its founding, in 1948, to international support, and international impulses have shaped the university’s research activities and student life ever since. As an international network university, Freie Universität lives from its diverse contacts with universities and organizations in Germany and abroad, which provide decisive impulses for research and teaching.
Today, Freie Universität Berlin is well connected worldwide with around 100 university-wide partnerships and around 330 university partnerships in the Erasmus mobility network and around 45 institutional partnerships.
Each year around 600 scientists from abroad contribute to the diversity of teaching and research at Freie Universität. Leading the way for a new quality of international cooperation are the seven Liaison Offices established abroad since 2007 – in Cairo, Moscow, New Delhi, São Paulo, New York, Beijing and Brussels.
